Reality of Budget 2018 | Dhruv Rathee Critical Analysis (Income Tax, Salaried people)

Greetings friends! new Budget for the new year has arrived & in this video, I'll tell you

good & bad news in this budget for common man. Come, let's see.

Let's start with good news. Huge announcement have been made in sector of education, health & agriculture.

In healthcare, National healthcare protection scheme 'll be launched for the poor people

which'll cover 10 Crore people & 5 lakh insurance cover policy per family shall be provided

1lakh crore shall be invested in education sector which'll focus on teacher's training

in next 4 years, which is a good thing.

Housing for all has also been promised till 2022 &

also, till 2022, agricultural's income i.e. farmer's income shall be doubled.

Farmer has also been promised that Minimum Sales Price shall be raised by 1.5 times

Some other good things announced includes a special scheme to fight air pollution in Delhi-NCR region.

They have stated that they'll fund State govt. so that they can adopt appropriate mechanism/machinery for cutting of crops.

so that crops are not burnt which'll reduce air pollution.

but friends, it is important to note here that out of these good things, these are supposed to be done i.e. these have been announced & not launched.

Consider them as promises & taking in view the previous track record of this Govt.,

you might remember how Govt. promised in 2014 to clean Ganga within 3-4 years,

Black money shall be brought back within 100days

All criminal politicians shall be sent to jail within 1 year

no work has been done on these promises. Start-up India, Make In India,  99 Smart Cities Plan

No progress has been made on them & big reason to doubt on all these promises is that no specified blueprint has been provided by the Govt.

The progress on this plan has not been indicated with no specific allocation.

Even govt. has not properly allocated for healthcare in budget.

It has not been specified from where 'll the money of 5 lakh per family for 10 crore families come from?

So, will promises for healthcare, education & agriculture also turn out to be jumla in future?

or will they be actually implemented? needs to be seen but for now, I'd like to paise Govt.

for at least start talking about important issues like healthcare & education

while from so many previous years, only communal talks of hindu-muslim & other worthless topics were on.

Now, let's talk about neutral topics which might be right in minds of one half & wrong in minds of other half.

Firstly, salary has been hiked for president, vice-president, members of parliament(MP) & Governors.

MP's salary has been hiked by 2002 & after increasing them, it has been linked with inflation.

like the way inflation rises, their salary shall also increase in future from time to time, year to year.

President's salary has been hiked by 400% i.e. 5lakh per month & not to forget, other free perquisites & benefits are also provided to him.

Further, he also does not have to pay income tax on this salary. Vice president & governor's salary has also increased by 300-400%.

Many people'll take this negatively but I'd like to give a different perspective.

it could be possible that since salary has been hiked by many folds, corruption & bribery might reduce hopefully &

our politicians refuse to take bribes since they are getting ample amounts in salary.

it could be also a perspective which is debatable & hence, I leave to your best knowledge to decide.

but this also exposes hypocrisy of Central Govt. & president because 2 years back, AAP MLA's demanded hike in their salary

which was rejected by president while their salary was only 20,000 per month

& now, president's salary itself has been hiked to 5lakh , so he raised his own salary while rejecting theirs(AAP).

Such double standards exist.

next thing is that Long Term Capital gains tax has been introduced in the nation

Long term capital gain means like if you invest in stock market, mutual funds for more than 1 year & if profit exceeds 1 lakh,

then you'l' have to pay 10% tax while some people feel

that it's incorrect since 1lakh is not sufficient to be chargeable.

but some people believe that it's okay to tax because if you earn profit of 1lakh or more, then you are not poor person.

but people making such arguments forget that it's possible that middle class people have invested their entire savings in such investments

on which they have to pay 10% tax.

From my perspective, it's a negative aspect.

Corporate tax has been reduced from 30% to 25%  if your company's turnover is 250 crore or less.

Those supporting it would say that it's done to support or  give preference to small or medium scale businesses.

& those who do not support it would say that it's done to give preference to corporate's while no benefits accrue to salaried common man.

talking about bad things in budget for common man, the worst thing is that no benefit has been provided to salaried middle man.

No change in tax slab rates while Arun jaitley demanded in 2014

when he was not elected to increase slab rate from 2lakh to 5 lakh for 0%

During tenure of previous Govt., Jaitley ji raised such demand with ease but when they came to power

they forgot all demands & took U-turn(Jumla).

Another Jumla done by Jaitley ji is that Long term Capital Gain(discussed in neutral category)

an year back, Jaitley ji said that they won't impose Long Term Capital Gain

Despite of that, after 1 year only, they have broken their promise themselves & took U-turn.

Custom duties has been increased from 15% to 20% i.e. whichever item shall now be imported, whether apparel, footwear, electronic items,

Iphone, Ipods, computer , whatever shall be levied at 20%

Some people 'll say that it is done to promote manufacturing in India but I don't feel the same.

I feel that if domestic manufacturing industry has to compete on International brands, quality & standards need to be imporved.

so that Make in India products are equally preferable to people like International brands.

but as of now, there are several items in India which do not match them in quality.

If people want to purchase imported items, then they should be given such option which is a bad step for middle class people

since they wont be able to purchase them now. India has negligible companies who can compete globally.

On crypto currency, Arun Jaitley ji said that it shall not be recognised as legal tender & using it for illegal items is illegal.

On this, fake news was spread by popular journalists.

Same journalists who searched for nano GPS chip in 2000 notes, stated that bitcoin is banned.

Cryptocurrency is banned in India but nothing of such sort has happened.

Jaitley ji has said that it cannot be used as legal tender i.e. it cannot be used for making payment, which is very obvius.

since it's not officially recognised but it's fully legal for investment.

Overall it's justified for middle class, salaried class & remaining taxpayers to be furious on Govt.

since no benefits has been granted to them. Co's have got tax cut while poor people have got subsidies

while middle class has received middle finger.

major reason for being furious is also that Narendra Modiji, Arun jaitley ji & other members of his party

made such promises(when they were not in power) like when they'll come into power

they'll raise income tax slab rate, reduce taxes for middle class

but nothing similar to this happened. Hence, Jumla.

& Humongous dreams are being shown in the budget for New India, 2022

People's belief for the same has also shaken whether such promises shall be implemented or not.

like big promises on education & healthcare are made but actual increase for education & healthcare in budget

is 3.84% for education & 2.76% for healthcare. This is the increase for these 2 sectors despite of such big promise.

here, few people 'll say to give time to Govt. since it has been in power for only 4 years

& changing, rectifying 60years or dirt 'll take more than 4 years

but I would like to tell these people that if it had been true, then some progress report would be visible in these 4 years

Let's suppose, even if Modiji promises till 2030 but where is the progress report, plan, blueprint for their implementation from 2014 till 2018?

nothing is available. In Ganga clean promise, how much % has been cleant? 10%/20%

In Housing for All, 2022 promise, how many people have been allocated houses. Tell its progress.

problem is that this Govt. does not tell about progress which leads in making all its promises fake & Jumla.

So, share this video friends so that truth can reach people. Till next video, Thank you !
