Friends, 6 years ago
when Nirbhay was raped,
the nation stood together in solidarity.
Everybody demanded justice.
Nobody asked
what her religion was.
Nobody asked
the religion of the rapists and murderers
or their political orientations.
Nobody could have even dared to say,
"Why are you protesting for Nirbhaya, why not others?"
or "Why are you voicing your opinion for her?"
while playing the game of "whataboutism"
But look at the course of our nation
in the last few years
where a new kind of breed has been born, called "andh bhakts"
and "zombies". Today,
with any rape or murder cases
this lot
are the ones to first see the religion of the victims
Then they see
the perpetrators religion and political orientation.
After which, they decide
wether that certain crime
deserves to be protested against
or deserves to fade in silence.
Or instead they decide to play the game of "whataboutism".
Can you even imagine
if someone during the Nirbhaya rape case
had tried
to divert our attention by asking about other crimes?
Never! They have made our country's mindset
stoop down to an extremely low level.
The Unnao and Kathua cases
have reached the eye of
international media
not because they were extremely violent,
I am ashamed to say we have a lot of those
in our country. They have been happening since agaes.
However, these cases were highlighted
because for the first time
a very big section of our society came in defence
of the rapists.
Rapists were being protected by some police officers, lawyers
and even government ministers.
People have even waived the Indian flag in rallies supporting these rapists.
Top governmental officials
like our PM, UP's Yogi
have managed to stoop down even lower.
They have yet to speak anything about these cases.
Our PM would often name opposition leader and Ex PM Manmohan Singh
as 'Maun'mohan (quiet) Singh because he wouldn't talk about
corruptions scams.
But he was decent enough to talk about the Nirbhaya case.
However, our 'Maun' Modi
isn't even decent enough to give a statement
on these atrocious rape cases.
All ministers from our government are quiet.
In the Nirbhaya case, people like Smriti Irani were the first
to protest.
All of them took to the streets.
That was a good thing, but why not now?
Was that just for political gains?
And don;t even talk about UP's CM Yogi
I haven't seen a worst human being.
Amongst all these rape cases,
this guy,
managed to withdraw
an old rape case against an EX-Union Minister
He has no shame that despite so many rape cases
he withdraws a rape case without an investigation or explanation
And after that,
he started to defend the rape-accused BJP MLA
without any evidence inside the court!
One of our governmental official says that this is a conspiracy by Pakistan
Another one says, "What's the big deal? Things like these keep happening with girls."
A third one,
an official BJP spokesperson calls a press conference
You should watch that press conference
She talk with such arrogance with the media!
No sympathy! In her heart or soul.
No shame in her statements,
instead starts her "whataboutism"
And asks the media why they are highlighting this particular case
And why not the other ones?
And to the breed of "andh bhakts", I would just like to say
If something like that happens with you or your loved ones
and if people around you start their "whataboutism"
Then how will you feel?
The hate that has been embedded in your minds
communal hate that asks if you're Hindu or Muslim
or asks if you're Nationalist or Anti-nationalist
and doing anything hiding behind our tricoloured flag
will take down our nation
This is cancerous to our national integrity.
Friends, I wouldn't like to explore the details
of both these cases.
They are extremely horrifying details.
Akash Banerjee has explained them in his video
and you can watch it by clicking on the i button.
The reason I made this video is
that we all can once again stand united
for the right thing.
I'm actually very happy that most media channels
and celebrities in our nation
are voicing their support for this.
It's a great thing!
There are only a few of these "andh bhakts" who are playing the game of "whataboutism"
This is a terrible thing to do!
We need to eradicate "whataboutism" from our country.
Politicians like these who defend rapists and murderers
should also be banished from our country.
Thank you!
